Overview

Distance: ~3km

• Start on Torrens St, Braddon (across from Canberra Centre)
• Follow bike path on Torrens St, curving around to Ijong St
• Cross Limestone Avenue onto the road on Angas St, Ainslie
• Turn right at Wakefield Avenue
• Continue straight-ish on Wakefield Avenue
• Turn right onto Wakefield Gardens and either:
  • stay on road and follow along until you reach Ainslie Shops
  • switch onto footpath and ride thorugh park until you reach Ainslie Shops
• End at Ainslie Shops

1. Start

The route starts across from the Canberra Centre, and follows along the Torrens St end of the Garden City Cycleway.

2. Follow bike path along until you hit Limestone Avenue

There are zebra crossings at each intersection along the path until Limestone Avenue. This is also a well-lit bike path at night.

3. Cross Limestone Avenue onto Angas St

Alternate destination: Turn left here to go to Dickson instead

In April 2025, there was construction of a new bike path. Switch onto the road here.

4. Turn right onto Wakefield Avenue

After turning right, continue straight until you hit a T intersection at Wakefield Gardens

You could go in any direction here and you will end up at Ainslie Shops
